Peer review process
Document review includes an initial review process by the editor where the adjustment to the area of knowledge, compliance with standards and documents are review via Ithenticate so they do not exceed 20% web similarity. A member of the editorial board is then assigned to monitor the review process.
The review is carried out by the double-blind method, after the editorial evaluation, the document is passed to arbitration, which determines the acceptance or not of the article (the results of the review can be: Slight modifications, substantial modifications and Not publishable). The average response time is between 2 to 3 months and the evaluators are selected based on their experience in the study area. The journal has the collaboration of external evaluators who are outside the editorial team and the publishing institution.
Peer evaluations are ad honorem. Every reviewer has the obligation to declare all possible conflicts of interest with respect to the document that must be reviewed and abstain from the review. Also, must maintain confidentiality regarding the data included in the document.
Deadlines: The initial review is done in the first 2 weeks, when sending to peers the review periods range from 2 to 6 weeks, upon receipt of the evaluations and that they coincide, they are sent to the authors, otherwise a third arbitration will be needed and an additional 2 to 4 weeks to obtain a response. The final decision remains in the hands of the editor/editorial committee in case of any controversy in this regard.
Additional Procedures: The accepted works will be corrected after their acceptance with issues of spelling and grammar. The final version will be sent to the author before publication.
